The golf season came to an end for the Carbon Dinos as they failed to make the cut for the second day of the 3A State Championship Tournament on Wednesday at Sleepy Ridge in Orem.

Ten of the top 16 schools advanced to second and final day of the tournament, leaving the bottom six out. Finishing with a team score of 235, the Lady Dinos finished 12th, 19 points behind Morgan for the final spot.

Aubrey Fausett scored a team best 65 points for the Lady Dinos in the the Modified Stableford scoring system. Laini Davis and Gwyn Kardelis both ended with 57, while Jordan Bianco scored 56. Indie Gardner and Sam King logged 54 and 50 points, which did not count towards the team’s final score.

Fellow Region 12 schools Canyon View and Richfield also failed to make the cut, while the region champion Juab Wasps advanced with an eighth place finish. Entering the second and final day Desert Hills sits at the top of the leaderboard with 308 points, followed by Park City, Dixie, Snow Canyon and Ridgeline.

The Lady Dinos qualified for the state tournament after finishing third in Region 12. Davis, Bianco and Fausett finished inside the top 10 individually during league play.
