Miss Utah’s People’s Choice voting is currently being conducted. It has been over 40 years since Miss Carbon County has competed in top 12 contestants at Miss Utah. Community members can help by placing their vote on or before Thursday, June 15. A voting donation of $1.00 is required and funds go directly to the Miss Utah Scholarship Foundation to assist this year’s contestants to continue their education.
Burrola was crowned Miss Carbon County in October 2016 and has been busy preparing for the Miss Utah Pageant to be held in Salt Lake City during the week of June 12 through June 17. Her platform is entitled Mission I’m Possible: Choose Your Future which she hopes will create a positive support system for every child and teen in Carbon County to feel confident in who they are and fulfill their dreams. She’s currently a student at USU-Eastern with hope of being a Veterinarian and is also a member of the dance team. This lovely young woman has been involved in dance for 15 years, so its only fitting that her talent is lyrical dance. She is looking forward to representing Carbon County in a positive and graceful manner at the pageant. Her parents are Sarah Rasmussen Marquez and Dominic Burrola.
