East Carbon City would like to invite everyone to come out for the annual Community Daze celebration on Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8.
Festivities will kick off at 3:00 pm on Friday, July 8 at Miners Trading Post Parking Lot Party and Color Daze Dance Fundraiser will benefit Bruin Point Elementary. There will be live entertainment by the Mountain Pacific band, delicious food will be available for purchase like fresh smoked ribs and mouthwatering pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs off the grill, cotton candy and snow cones. There will be opportunity drawings, dunk tank, kid’s games including face painting and hair stenciling. At 6:00 pm individuals can head over to the Little League Field to enjoy the Color Daze Dance being sponsored by Carbon Medical where bags of chalk can be purchased for $1.00.
The Rocking B Rodeo Company and Grassy Trail Riding Club will host the 67th Annual Sunnyside Rodeo on Friday, July 7 and
Saturday, July 8 with preshow at 7:00 pm with kids competitions like the mutton bustin, jackpot junior barrels, chicken chase and dash for cash. The main event will begin at 8:00 pm where the entire family can enjoy bull and bronc riding, roping, barrel racing. This year’s royalty will be introduced on both nights of the rodeo – Queen is Montana Allred, First Attendant is Shannon Theobold, Second Attendant is Ashley Thompson and Princess is Baily Curtis.
On Saturday, July 8 the parade will kick off at 10:00 am beginning at Miner’s Trading Post and ending at the park. Any businesses and/or civic groups that would like to participate in the parade are invited to meet at Miner’s Trading Post at 9:00 am that morning to check in with the parade chairperson.
Following the parade guest can enjoy many activities, live entertainment, horseshoe tournament and the annual Bo Huff car show. Vendors in the park will have items such as clothing, sun glasses, homemade crafts and don’t forget the delicious food items like barbeque pork, hamburgers, Navajo Tacos, there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy.
