Where the “flock” did these flamboyant, bright Pink Flamigos come from? That is the question that many residents and businesses like the Sun Advocate, Castleview Hospital and most recently Castle Country Radio have asked themselves. The magically migrating birds were accompanied by a mysterious note explaining to the resident/businesses that they have been “flocked” by someone for a good cause.

This creative fundraiser is being hosted by the non-profit organization, Job’s Daughters International. The organization helps young women grow and prosper through their teen years so that they may develop into successful and responsible adults. Each year they host various fundraising events where they gather donations to assist them with their service projects, plus to aid in enhancing the local program. Members of Bethel 3 Job’s International meet regularly at the Price Masonic Temple located at 30 North 100 East.

This is how it works, in order to send or remove the flamingos off your lawn the individual/business has to pay a Flocking Fee of $5.00. Now, if the individual/business wishes to Flock A Friend it’s $10.00 or if an individual/business would like the silly birds moved they will be charged a Re-flocking fee of $15.00 – but there is the catch, the individual/business must have been previously “flocked.” If individual or business would rather have the flamingos just do a fly-by, they can pay $15.00 for Flocking Insurance to ensure no birds will nest on their property. If an individual or business would like to give a bird a forever home they may do so by paying an adoption fee of $20.00.

The event is sure to give those previously “flocked” a good chuckle with each new location around town. To be a part of this fundraiser call 650-3623 or 650-7798
