The Carbon Country Club Golf Course played host to the fifth Annual Price City International Days Golf Championship Tournament this past Saturday, in conjunction with the International Days celebration.
The team consisting of Jeff and Val Westergard, and Danny and Mandy Davis claimed first place. Over 30 teams competed in the four-person scramble format. Only one person with an eight handicap or better was allowed per squad.
Team Westergard finished with a 58 after 18 holes. While the outstanding round was good enough for first place, a list of three teams fell just one stroke shy of tying the group.
Volunteer Management, consisting of Frank and Ashley Lujan, Steve Radmal and Tracy Howard, ended tied for second with a final score of 59. Johnson Appraisal, made up of Brett and Jeff Johnson, Brandon Wilson and Alan Parry, also ended with a 59. Key Bank, comprised of Chris and Ryan Nelson, Carl Bentley and Don Baker, rounded out the three-way-tie.
“It has become one of the premiere scramble golf tournaments in Eastern Utah,” said Price City community director Nick Tatton. “We have a lot of fun things that you don’t see at other golf tournaments, like giveaways and great contests.”
Throughout the tournament participants had an opportunity to play in several side contests, including a $3,000.00 putting contest, a $100,000.00 hole-in-one contest, while receiving free items from sponsors at each tee box.
All of the proceeds from the tournament will be given to local charities.
