The Price City International Days and Carbon Recreation played host to the annual Doubles Horseshoe Tournament Saturday afternoon at Washington Park, bringing in several participants.
Tommy Martinez and Andy Sandoval took home the top prize as they defeated Josh Eden and Casey Norton in the double-elimination format championship contest. Russell Morrison and Cameron Phillips, both from Payson, rounded out the top three.
The annual tournament marks one the biggest in the Castle Country area, and featured a payout reward for the top three teams.
Working in conjunction with International Days, Carbon Recreation has put the tournament on for years, making it a tradition during the weekend celebration. The reputation of tournament, mixed with the festivities of International Days, continues to bring out huge numbers for participation.
Another horseshoes tournament will take place this Saturday to run in connection with the Emery County Fair tournament. Registration for the tournament will start at noon. The competition will begin shortly after at 1:00. The cost to participate is $20.00 per team.
