Allowing 10 runs in the first frame of the region opener, the Emery Lady Spartans were dealt a lopsided 15-0 defeat in the season opener by the Grand Red Devils Tuesday afternoon in Moab.

Hoping to build off of the momentum built in Friday's win over Summit Academy, the Lady Spartans were dominated from beginning to end in the three inning tilt. The Red Devils added two runs in the second and three more in the third to end the contest.

Tuesday's loss dips Emery to 1-2 overall, but more importantly 0-1 in league action. The team will next travel to St. George on Friday and Saturday for a pre-season tournament, before returning home on Wednesday, March 23 against Altamont.
