After defeating the College of Southern Nevada in the first of a four game set, the USU-Eastern Golden Eagles lost three consecutive games to finish the weekend 1-3 at home.

Opening the weekend set on Friday, the Golden Eagles used a 10 run fifth inning to pull away from Southern Nevada and earn their second win in the process.

Sophomore Bennett Bradford earned the win on the hill pitching four frames. Allowing six hits, four runs and three walks, Bradford struck out three of the 22 batters he faced during the outing. Christian Bonilla delivered three solid innings, allowing two hits and no earned runs against 13 batters.

Sophomore Austin Geurtsen led the way offensively for the Golden Eagles finishing 2-3 at the plate with two doubles and three RBI. Austin Pitcher, Will Bierlein and Colton Hill all finished with two RBI in the high scoring affair.

Unable to continue the momentum built in Friday's first game the Golden Eagles suffered a 9-1 loss later in the afternoon. Falling behind early 3-0 by end the of the second innings, USU-Eastern was unable to muster enough offense to battle back.

Freshman Jordan Raab was charged with the loss pitching just two innings from the starter role. As a team USU-Eastern combined for just four hits, while committing two errors in the field.

Losing the next two games on Saturday 11-4 and 16-3, the Golden Eagles sit 2-6 on the young conference season.

The Golden Eagles are currently sitting in fifth place, one game better than the College of Southern Idaho entering the third week of conference. Those two teams will go head-to-head Friday and Saturday with back-to-back double headers. Friday's games will begin at 12:00 pm, Saturday will start at 11:00.
