With the completion of the fall sports season the Emery Spartans are gearing up for the winter schedule, which begins Tuesday as the swimming team plays host to a meet at the Emery County Aquatic Center.

The winter sports season will feature boys and girls basketball, drill team, swimming and wrestling. The swim team will participate in the first two events of the new season, hosting on Tuesday and then traveling to Cedar City at the end of the week.

The boys basketball team will begin the season on Nov. 21 as they travel to Delta for a non-region tilt with the Rabbits. Other key dates on the schedule feature a home contest with Carbon on Dec. 6 and the beginning of region play against Richfield on Jan. 3.

After a runner-up performance in the 2A classification in 2016-17 season, the Emery Lady Spartans will begin the basketball season on Nov. 21 at home against Bryce Valley. League play will begin for the Lady Spartans on Tuesday, Jan. 2 against the Richfield Wildcats on the road.
