The Carbon High School Swim Team opened the 2017-18 campaign with a non-region dual on the road against Skyline Friday afternoon in Salt Lake City.

Competing against the highly talented Skyline squad, the Dinos accumulated just one first place. The boys team finished with a total of 27 points, compared to 142 from Skyline. The Lady Dinos ended with 37, compared to 136.

Kinnon Lyman logged a first place finish in the eighth event of the afternoon, winning the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.83. Second place went to Skyline freshman Alex Warton, and third place to Chris Joyce.

The top female finish went to Emily Jespersen in the 200 yard freestyle. Jespersen’s time of 2:29.38 placed her in second behind top finisher Suzi Creveling of Skyline’s time of 2:14.22.

Friday’s meet is the first of 13 for the Carbon Lady Dinos in a season that will run until the first week of February. Next the team will travel south to Cedar City for an invitational meet on Friday and Saturday.
