Community Nursing Services and Carbon Recreation teamed up for the first annual “Bags N Brews Cornhole Tournament” Friday evening at the Carbon County Events Center.
78 total teams of two gathered to participate in the first annual event. The complete entry fee of $20 went to benefit the Senior Wish Program, which provides an opportunity for CNS Home Health and Hospice patients to relive an old memory, or experience a new adventure.
“We had a huge turn out and we are excited to do this again next year,” said Candace Bradley of CNS. “We will make this an annual event and we are so thankful and appreciative to all the people in our community that came out and supported the Senior Wish Program.”
All 78 teams had a first round pool play, which divided the squads into an upper and lower bracket. The team of Mike Peczuh and Dillon Olsen claimed 1st place in the upper bracket, winning a brand new YETI cooler, and a set of custom cornhole boards made by Zach Palacios.
Randon Timothy and Tom Robertson won the lower bracket, winning a variety of tickets in Salt Lake City, as well as an overnight stay in Wendover.
