After an eight-day break the Emery Spartans wrestling team returned to competition with a road dual against the Delta Rabbits on the road Thursday night.

Still fighting a short roster due to injuries, the Spartans were forced to forfeit in five separate weight classes during the varsity meet. The lack of depth proved costly as Emery suffered a 63-15 loss.

Emery will now take the rest of the week off before returning on Wednesday, Jan. 3 against Beaver on the road. Next weekend will also provide an early season gauge for Emery, as the team will then travel to the 3A Duals on Friday and Saturday.
