The Emery Lady Spartans dismantled the North Sanpete Hawks 73-16 to earn their eighth consecutive win Tuesday evening at the Spartan Center in Castle Dale.

Kinlee Toomer stuffed the stat sheet with a team best 16 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and two steals in the blowout win. Kacelynn Toomer finished with 15 points, five boards and three steals, and Megan Jensen contributed eight points and ten rebounds.

Emery exploded out of the gate, racing to a 44-4 lead by the end of the first half. The domination allowed coach Lynn Tuttle to use his entire bench, as 11 players scored at least one point.

Tuesday’s victory gives Emery a season series sweep over North Sanpete. The win also keeps the Lady Spartans at the top of the Region 15 standings with the Richfield Wildcats.

With only three games remaining in the regular season, Emery will return to the court on Thursday with a road tilt against on the road against Manti. Next week’s schedule will feature a trip to Grand before the finale at home against San Juan.
