Fighting through rain and windy conditions, the Emery Lady Spartans golf team delivered a third place finish in the third Region 15 meet of the season Thursday afternoon at the Skyline Golf Course in Fairview.

The Richfield Wildcats once again dominated the field with a towering 182 final score. Grand finished in second with a 219, followed by Emery’s 227. South Sevier edged out San Juan for fourth place, while Manti and North Sanpete completed the field of seven.

Lainee Jensen continued to set the pace for Emery with a team-low 50. Raegan Sitterud delivered the team’s second score with a 55. Sydney Alton, Angie Nielson and Teah Lowery all shot a 61 to give the team its third and fourth score.

Despite Thursday’s third place finish, Emery managed to retain a three-stroke lead for second place overall in the region standings. Thursday’s performance comes one week after the team delivered a second place performance at the Cove View course in Richfield.

Emery will now take a break in the action for Spring Break. The next region meet will take place on Tuesday, April 3, again at Cove View.
