The Carbon Dinos continued the early stretch of the track and field season with an outstanding performance at the Blue Mountain Invitational Saturday in Blanding.

Competing against eleven other schools the Carbon Lady Dinos dominated the competition with an outstanding 185 point performance, topping second place Grand by 76 points. San Jan finished comfortably in third with 97 points, followed by North Sevier and Monticello.

The Carbon boys team delivered a solid second place performance with a final tally of 152 points, falling just short of Grand’s 159.5. Monticello ended in third, followed by San Juan and Monticello.

Working as a state qualifier Saturday’s meet was the second in four days for the team. The first took place earlier in the week in Emery with the Darrel Gardner Invitational.

With Spring Break now approaching, the Dinos will take a break in the track and field season. The team will next participate in Uintah on April 6, before heading to Manti the following week.
