It took extra innings, but the Carbon Dinos found a way to top 4A Salem Hills in a 4-3 thriller Tuesday afternoon in Helper.

Anthony Jones waited out ball-four with the bases loaded, bringing in the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth. The game had remained tied over the final three frames before the deciding run crossed the plate.

Jadon Robertson logged the win from the mound inning relief effort. Facing seven batters during his time on the hill, Robertson allowed just one hit, while striking out three and walking none. Zac Bradley started the contest going six innings, allowing six hits and one earned run.

Ty Anderson finished 3-4 at the plate and scored two runs for the Dinos in the win. Cody Lowe added two hits in three attempts, while also scoring one run. Nate Olson, Collin Lewis and Anthony Jones all contributed one RBI.

Tuesday’s non-region win moves Carbon to 7-5 overall on the season, and marks the third win over an opponent that is at least one classification higher.

Carbon will return to the field on Wednesday at home for the lone meeting of the season with the Emery Spartans. Start time for the contest is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m..
