The Utah Council of Trout Unlimited is looking to establish a chapter for both Carbon and Emery Counties. The first meeting of the newly established Carbon/Emery County Chapter will take place on Tuesday, April 17 at 7:00 pm at the Department of Wildlife Resources office located at 310 North Carbonville Road. The guest speaker for the evening will be Jordan Nielson, Price River Project Manager for Trout Unlimited.

The goal of the non-profit organization is to provide leadership in the conservation, protection and enhancement of the cold-water fisheries and watersheds in Utah and to do so in a practical and collaborative way that makes sense for Utah and its citizens. This typically involves working with the agricultural community and design common sense solutions that improve their operations in exchange for water instream or other improvements designed to benefit native and wild trout. The group specializes in true win-win situations which lies in the strength of their project partnerships, which typically range from private landowners, private businesses, federal and state agency personnel.

There are so many reasons to join Trout Unlimited meet new fishing buddies, get involved with local projects that make fishing better, learn from peers and share personal knowledge, share your thoughts to the conservation. The cost for annual membership is $35.00 per person.
