The Carbon Lady Dinos jumped from third to first in the Region 14 standings with a dominating performance at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course Thursday afternoon.

Competing in the only home meet of the season the Lady Dinos delivered a final team score of 378, a season low up to this point. Juab finished in a distant second with 408, followed by Providence Hall’s 409. Delta, who entered the meet in first place, finished fourth. Union and Maeser Prep rounded out the field of six.

Aubrey Fausett again provided the top score for Carbon with a 92. Jordan Bianco continued her consistent campaign with a 93. Jessica Hansen ended with a 94 and Sam King recorded the team’s fourth score with a 99.

“Aubrey, Jordan, Jessica and Sam really came through for the team,” said head coach Kenji Otani. “There is a lot of expectation and pressure on your home course and I am proud of how the girls played through it.”

Entering Thursday’s meet the Lady Dinos trailed Delta by six strokes for first place, and Providence Hall by two for second. The outstanding round of golf gives Carbon the edge for a region championship with only one region meet remaining.

With the State Tournament looming the Lady Dinos will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday, April 25 with a trip to the Roosevelt Golf Course.
