Junior Carter Fausett won the 400 meter event with a time of 52.25. Fausett managed to outlast Manti’s Jaden Sterner, who finished second at 52.38.
The biggest event for the Carbon boy’s proved to the be the long jump as Derek Hillam claimed first place, defeating two teammates in the process. Carson Frame and Fausett finished right behind Hillam, giving the Dinos a one-two-three finish in the event.
Carbon will return to action with a trip to Brigham Young University in Provo, the site of this year’s State Championship, on Friday and Saturday. Competing against several schools from around the state, the weekend will serve as a primer for the region finale on May 9 and 10.
