The 3A High School Baseball State Championship Tournament will begin on Saturday as four schools will play host to the four sites that will dictate the quarterfinals.
Consisting of 16 teams throughout the three divisions in the 3A classification, the three region winners (Grantsville, Richfield and Carbon) will host three lower seeds for the first two rounds. Juab, the No. 2 seed from Region 14, has also been awarded home field advantage for the weekend.
Held in true double-elimination form, the state tournament will continue through May 12. After the first weekend games will shift to Kearns High School and Gates Field, also located in Kearns.
Below is the complete schedule for Saturday’s games.
AT Grantsville High School:
10:00 A.M.: #1 Grantsville VS #5 American Leadership Academy
1:00 P.M.: #3 South Sevier VS #4 Providence Hall
*Winners from each game will play at 4:00 P.M.
*Losers from each game will play at 4:00 P.M.
AT Ernie Gardner Field in Helper:
10:00 A.M.: #1 Carbon VS #6 Emery
12:30 P.M.: #2 Grand VS #4 Morgan
*Winners from each game will play at 5:30 P.M.
*Losers from each game will play at 3:00 P.M.
AT Richfield:
10:00 A.M.: #1 Richfield VS #6 Delta
12:30 P.M.: #3 Union VS #3 Judge Memorial

AT Juab:
9:00 A.M.: #2 Juab VS #5 Manti
11:30 A.M.: #2 Summit Academy VS #4 North Sanpete
