The 26th Annual Moab Arts Festival will be in full swing for the upcoming Memorial weekend. Everyone of all ages is invited to attend this free festival starting Saturday, May 26 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sunday, May 27 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at Swanny City Park located at 400 North 100 West in Moab.

“This year we will have over 100 artists with all their unique designs and product to sell. So, it’s a great time to come buy art or buy something that is homemade or handmade” said Committee Member, Susan Baffico. “We have fine art, we have wood art, sometimes we even have furniture, we have lots of jewelry, we have pottery and mixed media and upcycle.” The featured artists come from all over the Four Corners area, as far as Washington and Virginia.

The Beer and Wine Garden will return for the fifth year with Moab’s own Moab Brewery, Castle Creek Winery and Spanish Valley Vineyards will be offering a selection of locally made brews and winces for sale. The hours of operation for the Beer and Wine Garden will be from noon until 6:00 pm on both days of the event.

The festival will be filled with live music throughout the two-day event on one of the two stages. “We’ve got about a dozen musicians coming and we always have the Moab Taiko Dan group playing the drums and we’ll have Native American Hoop Dancer but we’ll have a lot of jazz, blues and really unique music,” stated Baffico. The Grassroots Shakespeare group will be performing A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Two Noble Kinsmen.

No festival would be complete without a variety of festival food vendors. From cotton candy to nuts, wood-fired pizza to Mediterranean to Greek dishes, ice cream, kettle corn, freshly squeezed juices. There will definitely be something for everyone to enjoy.

The Moab Arts Festival is not forgetting about their young visitors. “We’re going to have an expanded Kids Activity Tent this year and we’re really excited. We always have the Canyonlands Rodeo do pony rides for the kids. We will also have an atlatl throwing contest,” said Baffico. There will also be a magic show, hula hooping, tye dye, photo booth and the Grand County Native American Club will share some Native American history and delicious fry bread.
