Community members are invited to attend a Send-off Party for Miss Carbon County Mikelle Monson on Saturday, June 9 at 1:00 pm at Carbon High School. Come out to show your support and wish her good luck in the upcoming Miss Utah Pageant.

“So, at the Send-off, we’re going to be doing everything that I’ll do at the state pageant. I’ll be performing by talent, on-stage question and even some questions to kind of bring in to interview a little bit,” said Miss Carbon County. “Anyone from the community is invited, it will be a huge event, super fun. So, if you want to come to see what Miss Utah is going to be like come out to that.” The state pageant will be held in Salt Lake City June 13 through June 16 with 50 contestants from all over the state competing for the Miss Utah title.

Upon returning from the state pageant Miss Carbon County, who is the daughter of Ryan and Mindy Monson, will continue her duties by making public appearances along with her court at several community events throughout the summer. She recently graduated from Carbon High and is looking forward to continuing her education. “I tried out for the SUU Cheer Team and I made that so with being on that team I get a full ride scholarship so I’m going to be going to SUU for these next few years; I’m hoping to become a dermatologist,” stated Miss Carbon County. Southern Utah University is a public university in Cedar City, Utah.

Miss Carbon County will be attending the pageant with her Lil Miss Carbon County by her side, Megan Roberts. This cute 10-year-old will be going to fifth grade next year at Castle Heights Elementary and is the daughter of Zach and Jennifer Roberts.
