Carbon High School senior Cody Lowe and junior Ty Anderson have been selected to the baseball 3A All-State First Team. Senior Cesar Laya was tabbed as an honorable mention.
During a standout senior campaign Lowe led the Dinos with a .510 batting average, improving from a .368 average as a junior. During the 2018 season he accumulated 18 doubles, six triples and 40 RBIs. As a pitcher Lowe finished with a record of 7-1 and ended with a 1.71 ERA.
Anderson provided a consistent bat for the Dinos throughout the season as he finished with a .380 average and a team best 42 runs. Registering 36 hits, five doubles and two triples, Anderson also brought in 22 runs.
Laya, in his only year with the team, was an infield staple defensively and a top option at the plate. Playing in 30 games this season he finished with a .326 BA and gathered a .404 on base percentage, while also stealing 30 bases.
The 3A All-State teams were selected by each of the coaches in the classification and the Deseret News selects a MVP from the group.
