The Helper’s First Friday organizers would like to cordially invite everyone out to celebrate the one-year birthday of Helper’s First Friday events on August 3 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It has been a full year of monthly festivities on the city’s historic Main Street and it has become a great way for community members to kick off a new month.

“The theme is Birthday Party and it’s also the Class of 1963’s class reunion. They’re encouraging people to dress mod like 1963 and there is also going to be Beatles costume contest. That will be at the Helper Hub from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm,” said Helper Council Member, Malarie Matsuda. The hub facility can be found at 133 South Main Street.

A birthday party would not be complete without cake, as Matsuda explains, “There’s going to be a Cake Pot-Luck, so if you want to bring a cake and it will be a whole table with community made cakes and that should be a lot of fun to taste different cakes.”

There will also be a classic birthday party games like red rover, Simon says, musical chairs, duck duck goose and pin the pick ax on Big John.

There will be lots of vendors, live music, gallery art stroll and kid’s activities. “Down at Three Little Llamas they’re going to be having the Kid’s Corner. So, they’ll have 60s board games, piñata and cupcake decorating,” said Matsuda. There will also be face painting for the kids.
