The Coal Hollow Fire is affecting the roadway on U.S. 6 which has resulted in closure in both directions.
The fire was started by lightning and pushed by hot dry winds on August 4 spreading very actively. It currently has grown to 20,352 acres and is only four percent contained.
As of Tuesday morning, there is no estimated time of when highway 6 will reopen. Alternate routes can be taken either over State Highway 31 through Huntington Canyon or State Highway 191 through Indian Canyon.
