Each month Castle Country Radio Stations picks a non-profit organization in the community to highlight each month and for the month of September, the charity chosen is United Way of Eastern Utah. This is an organization within the community that helps families in Eastern Utah. One of the events that take place each year is the Day of Caring which will be held on September 15 at 7:30 am at Lin’s Fresh Market and open to all ages.
After breakfast, groups will be sent out to various locations throughout the community to complete various community service projects that vary from painting a home, construction of wheelchair ramp, landscaping, cleanup of a yard and/or minor repairs. The Day of Caring is designed to help citizens, elderly residents, business owners, and others complete projects that would go unattended if not for the volunteers that come to help. Currently, there are over 20 projects and applications for more projects are still being accepted.
In order to have a successful event, United Way is looking for volunteers to assist in the completion of these projects scheduled throughout the community. There is no age limit so this could involve an entire family, sports team, church group, businesses or civic organizations. Please join United Way of Eastern Utah for the largest one-day communitywide volunteer event dedicated to improving people’s lives. To sign up as a volunteer or for additional information contact United Way at 435.637.8911.
The event will finish up around 11:30 and volunteers can enjoy a free barbeque at Washington Park. Make September a month that you make a difference in the community by supporting United Way of Eastern Utah.
