Grace Broadbear recorded a hat trick as the Carbon Lady Dinos stormed past the American Leadership Academy Patriots 3-1 Tuesday afternoon in Spanish Fork.

Logging their seventh win of the season in division play, the Lady Dinos held a 1-0 at the break. Despite a challenge from ALA in the second half, Carbon managed to add two more goals to secure the win.

Broadbear’s hat trick runs her season total to a team best 15 goals in 12 games this season. It also marks the third time she has scored three goals in one game during the 2018 campaign.

Now 7-3 in Region 14 play the Lady Dinos have taken a comfortable lead for third place in the division. With only two region games remaining on the slate, Carbon trails Juab by one game for second, and Delta by 2 ½ for first.

Carbon will complete the home portion of the home schedule on Thursday as they welcome in the Delta Rabbits. Delta won the first meeting 4-1 back on Sept. 4.

Start time for Thursday’s home tilt is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.. The regular season will come to a close next week on Thursday, Oct. 4 on the road against Juab.
