The Emery County Sheriff’s Office will be compiling a roster from which qualified individuals may be selected when openings for a Dispatcher, Corrections Officer, and/or Patrol Deputy occur. The examination will be designed to fairly test the mental ability and knowledge of the applicants in regards to the three different positions.
The Police Officer Selections Test (POST) will be administered to those who have not already taken it and the cost to take the exam will be $20.00. You will be notified of more details when the date for the testing has been set. Those interested in a Dispatch position will need to submit a typing test with their resume by going to www.speedtypingonline.com.
Applicants for the examination process must be a minimum of 21 years of age and citizen of the United States. Applicants will be disqualified if they have been convicted, as defined under Utah law, of (a) any felony; (b) any Class A Misdemeanor; (c) domestic violence; (d) Class B Misdemeanor DUI within the last five years; or (e) any criminal offense involving moral turpitude. Dispatchers must be able to successfully complete BCI Terminal Operator Class if hired.
Applicants for employment may be required to undergo a drug test and a background check as a condition of employment.

The application can be obtained by calling 435-381-3578 or at www.emerycounty.com.Those who pass or have passed the Police Officer Selection Test will remain on the roster for 6 months from the date the examination is administered by the county.
