Vickie Elaine Hunt died after a brief battle with kidney disease on Oct. 10, 2018. She was born on Oct. 31, 1951 in Price, Utah to Alice and Victor Price. She lived in Clawson until her family moved to Castle Dale. She graduated from Emery High School in 1970. After graduating high school she went to Green River where she met her sweetheart, Owen Hunt. They fell in love and were engaged on their second date. They were married Oct. 2, 1970. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2008. They were blessed with three children.

Vickie always loved Halloween, since she was born on that date it held a special place in her heart. She often referred to herself as the “Wicked Witch of the West.” In her house no matter what time of year it was you could find an array of witches, ghosts, spider webs and other Halloween decorations.

Whenever you asked Vickie her age she would tell you she was 29. This was a good age for her to be until her children all surpassed her in age. She will be forever 29 to us.

She was a woman of many talents. She liked to crochet and make afghans. She would crochet many hot pads, dish clothes and dish washing soap aprons, which she gladly shared with her friends, family and strangers. She was the best cook. When she was raising her family she made almost all of her meals from scratch. Her oven fried chicken was the best in the world and everyone was happy when she made it for family reunions. Her mashed potatoes and gravy was the best. She could even make instant potatoes and cream of chicken gravy taste good.

She had such a generous heart. She was always giving things away. She liked to collect knickknacks, owls, Avon bottles and of course Halloween items. Before she was sick she liked to attend the Relief Society functions and parties. One of her favorites was the tasters table. She loved it when the tasting item was chocolate. She would often make her earthquake cake that drew raves from the Relief Society ladies.

She loved to have her grandson, Dallas over to her house to spend time with her. She would always spoil him and let him eat things like potato chips for breakfast. That is until grandpa ruined the fun and thought he needed a little healthier breakfast. On their travels they liked to eat at Burger King, where she allowed Dallas to sneak one of her fries.

Many nieces and nephews can say they learned their first naughty word from Aunt Vickie. She always made gestures to make you feel welcome or to say hello. In her own strange way to be flipped off by her was to be loved. Everyone loved to hang out at Vickie’s house. Her children often thought their friends would come over just to hang out with their mother. One of her favorite things to do was talk to her sisters and daughter on the telephone. They could talk for hours and never run out of things to say.
