PRICE – Utah State Eastern’s Blaze Nield has been named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The freshman point guard earned the honors after leading the Eagles to two victories over the Rexburg United while averaging 27.5 points, 3.5 assists, four rebounds and two steals per game.

On Friday against the United he scored a career-high 32 points including a layup with two seconds left to give the Eagles the one point victory.

Nield is averaging 23.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game so far this season.

Nationally, Nield is 13 in points per game, 16 in points, and 15 in free throws.

The Eagles and Nield will hit the road this weekend for a weekend tournament in Rock Springs, Wyoming where they will take on Western Wyoming and Central Wyoming.
