James Anthony Robertson, 70, passed away November 20, 2018 at Castleview Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born October 8, 1948 in Price, Utah to Leland G. and Margaret Cormani Robertson. After graduation from Carbon High School in 1966, Jim enlisted in the US Navy and while stationed in California he met his beloved Starla. On September 1, 1973, he married the love of his life, Starla M. Pool in La Palma, California.
Jim honorably served in the U.S. Navy where he served on several ships during Vietnam. He eventually retired from the Naval Reserves as a Chief Petty Officer. After returning from the service, he went to work on the initial construction of the Huntington Power Plant. He was later employed by Utah Power & Light where he spent his entire career at the Huntington Plant. Jim retired from Pacific Corp as a maintenance planner and was held in high esteem by his co-workers.
Jim was an active member of Carbon Lodge #16 F. & A.M. of Utah where he served as Worshipful Master three times and as secretary of the lodge for many years. He was a member the Price Chapter #6 Royal Arch Masons, Solomon Council #4, Cryptic Masons, Charles Fred Jennings Commandery #6 and the Knights Templars. He served as Grand Commander of Knights Templar for Utah in 2014-2015, the Grand Chapter R.A.M. as the Grand Scribe and the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of Utah as Grand Principal Conductor of the Work. Jim was also a member of the Knights of the York Cross of Honor, The Red Cross of Constantine, York Rite Sovereign College of North America, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and go fishing with Starla. He spent a lot of time on horseback, riding motorcycles, working in or around his home, caring for all animals and spending time with his family and friends during their many adventures. Jim was a friend to all and was willing to help anyone, at any time. He was a mentor to many on a local, state and national level. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who was loved and respected by all. His years of labor and generosity will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his loving wife, Starla Robertson, Price; daughter, Jana Olsen & Ike Lee, Carbonville; son, TJ (Jen) Robertson, Price; sister, Karen Seat, Holladay, UT; brother, Bob (Linda) Robertson, Mesquite, NV; seven grandchildren, Mallory, Carlee, Tess, Brayden, Bridger, Anthony and Cedric; five great grandchildren, Xzavier, Leah, Kanyon, Brixon and Andres.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Bonnie Jean Robertson; brother, Ronald (Karen) Robertson; brother-in-law, Dan Seat; and his beloved in-laws, Tim and Wanda Pool.
Funeral service, Tuesday, November 27, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price where family will receive friends Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
