On Wednesday morning dispatch received a call stating a local bus driver observed a male individual carrying what looked to be a rifle at the corner of 100 North 600 East in Price.
Pinnacle Schools was quickly notified of the incident where school officials initiated a lockdown of both high school and elementary buildings to allow time for authorities to search the surrounding area for the person in question. “The school was told of the incident, so a decision for a lockdown was made just a precautionary measure. It was then lifted within 45 minutes as the man was not found,” said Captain Bill Barnes. The school was never in immediate danger but the incident was close to school grounds so it was important to keep students, faculty and staff safe.
The male individual in question was never located by law enforcement.
