PRICE – Utah State Eastern Head Baseball Coach Scott Madsen announces the signing of Ty Anderson to his 2019 recruiting class.

Madsen didn’t have to go to far to find Anderson, the infielder is a local product from Carbon High School.

“Ty will really help our team with his bat, speed and glove especially in the infield,” said Madsen.

“He is an exceptionally knowledgeable baseball player that controls and works hard.”

Anderson is a three-year starter for Carbon and helped the lead the Dinos to a second place finish at the 2018 3A State Baseball Championship as a junior.

He decided to sign with the Eagles due to his familiarity with the staff and program.

“I know the program and most the people around it, so it’s nice to be familiar and I know I can learn from everyone above me in the staff, and it’s also nice to stay close to home with a place to stay,” said Anderson.

He will join the Eagles next school year and will look to help the team compete in the top junior college baseball conference in the country.

“I feel that i can bring the best of my abilities on the field to the program. I will always be putting out maximum effort no matter where I am and I feel that can help. I hope to contribute and help the team make a run in the conference,” said Anderson.

While Anderson is the first recruit to sign with USU Eastern baseball, he won’t be the last as Coach Madsen and his staff are still working to build a roster for next year that can compete for a Region XVIII title.

“We are currently working on recruiting student athletes that would help us take our program to the next level,” said Madsen.

The 2019 edition of the USU Eastern baseball team will kick off their season on February 1 with a doubleheader against Cochise in Douglas, Arizona.
