The Pinnacle boys basketball team went 0-4 as they took part in the APA Eagle tournament last week.
The tournament took place at American Preparatory Academy in Draper December 20-21.
In Thursday’s game APA West Valley proved to be too much for the Panthers as they were defeated 81-50. Pinnacle was led by Riley Wilson with 19 points and Benjamin Scott with 11. APA was led by Sam Hatch with 25 and Ben Beckstead with 21. APA used a 44 point first half to put the Pinnacle in a hole that they couldn’t get out of.
On Friday they took to the floor again and unfortunately the result was the same as they suffered a 91-51 loss to American Heritage. The Panthers trailed by only 11 points at halftime but American Heritage used a 50 point second half to put the game out of reach.
Saturday in the first game of a double header Pinnacle played Tintic. The Panthers were led by Anthony Madrigal with 18 and Benjamin Scott and Riley Wilson both chipped in with 13 points. McCoy Fitzgerald had 20 points and Ryden Bigler added 19 points to lead the Tintic Miners to a 69-54 victory.
In the final game of the tournament the Panthers played Altamont. Makovey Jessen scored 20 point and Cordale Taylor added 16. For the Panthers Benjamin Scott had 17 and Riley Wilson scored 16 in a 64-47 loss.
Up next for the Pinnacle Panthers (3-9, 0-1 in region) is a road contest against Whitehorse (3-5, 0-0 in region) on January 4. The next home game will be on January 12 when Tabiona (8-2, 0-0 in region) comes to town.
