Start the month of March of right by attending the AARP’s Smart Driver Course. Officials would like to invite licensed drivers, over the age of 50 to a refresher course on Thursday, March 7 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm inside the Emery County Senior Center located at 85 North 200 East in Castle Dale. The cost of the four-hour class is $15.00 for AARP members, and $20.00 for others.

By law, in Utah, drivers over 55 years of age can receive a discount on their auto insurance upon completion of the course. By taking the AARP Smart Driver Course, drivers can be eligible to receive the discount which is good for three years.

The overall purpose of the course is to educate seasoned drivers about the changes in rules and regulations that have impacted the changing roads and highways we use. There are no written or driving tests to be given, the class is open to not only AARP members, but others as well.
