The Emery Lady Spartans are still in search of their first region win following a 7-2 loss to the Gunnison Bulldogs at home Tuesday afternoon.

Falling behind 5-0 by the end of the third frame, the Lady Spartans scored their only runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Gunnison added one in the fifth and one more in the seventh as they cruised to the region win.

Ashlun Clark was pegged with the loss on the hill, giving up just two earned runs and two hits in five innings of solid pitching. Once again Emery was plagued by errors in the field, committing five for the game, while recording just four hits.

Addy Healy and Jayla Weston both recorded an RBI for the Lady Spartans in the setback. Jessica Mason recorded a team best two hits in three at bats and also scored one run.

Now 0-4 in 2A East play, the Lady Spartans will take a break from league action as they return to the field on Wednesday for a non-league contest against 1A Duchesne. Emery will continue region play on Friday as they travel to meet Gunnison for the second and final time this regular season.
