The Carbon Dino baseball team made quick work of American Leadership Academy on Friday at Gardner Field in Helper.

Taking just five innings to get the job done by a score of 19-0, the Dinos were dominant against a team that was clearly out matched. Carbon scored 14 runs in the first, with 18 batters going to the plate.

The Dinos were relentless with their offense registering 19 hits in a game where the outcome was a forgone conclusion after the first inning. Freshman Keaton Rich was in the zone all game where he had three hits in three at bats and also registered four RBI’s. Freshman Jordan Fossat, junior Kaleb Nelson and seniors Collin Lewis and Adrien Sanchez each added two RBI’s.

On defense, pitchers Sanchez and senior Nathan Richens combined for a one hit shutout in which they totaled seven strike outs.

This game comes after an up and down stretch that saw the Dinos go 4-4. With only eight games left in the regular season Carbon sits in second place behind Juab, and will have a home and away series with them to close out the year.

Next up for the Dinos though, is a date with Delta on the road on Tuesday April 2nd. The Dinos next home game will be on April 5th against the same Delta team at Gardner Field in Helper. That game is scheduled to start at 3:30
