The Carbon softball team lost a Region 14 match-up to the Union Cougars Tuesday at home 15-8.

Union scored early and often to keep the Dinos off balance and on the defense in a game which they never held a lead.

The Dinos offense was led by senior Kaytlyn Cripps who recorded two hits on four at bats with two RBI’s and one run scored. Senior Dekota Kraushaar also had two RBI’s and junior Clarissa Noyes and freshman Amya Prettyman both notched one RBI each with Noyes and sophomore Cora Luke scoring three runs as well.

On the mound for the Dinos Brooke Moosman pitches a complete game going seven innings giving up 15 runs, six earned while walking seven and striking out six.

Union 4-0 in region play, methodically scored runs in every inning but the second, scoring six runs in the sixth inning alone. The Cougars were led by senior Chloe Hyder, who had four RBI’s on two hits in five at bats with one home run.

Carbon now sits at 9-4 overall and 2-1 in region play will have a match up with the Delta Rabbits on Thursday. Carbon defeated the Rabbits on March 28 15-6 at home. The road contest is scheduled to start at 3:30. This starts a long road stretch for the Dinos who will not be home again until April 24th when they will have a non region game against North Sanpete.
