The Carbon Lady Dinos continued the region golf season with a second-place performance Wednesday afternoon in Roosevelt.
Finishing with a team score of 375, the Lady Dinos ended seven-strokes behind first-place Providence Hall. Union’s 390 placed the Cougars third on their home course, while Delta and Juab rounded out the field of five.
“Providence Hall just played better than us,” said head coach Kenji Otani. “Winning region will now take a small miracle, but stranger things have happened.”
Jordan Bianco again led the Lady Dinos with a final score of 89. Sam King was second on the team with a 90, followed by Aubrey Fausett’s 97. Rhiannon Timmons delivered the fourth score with a 99. Both Jessica Hansen and Kirsten Etzel also competed at the varsity level, but did not register qualifying scores.
Trailing Providence Hall by 32-strokes, the Carbon Lady Dinos will host the final region meet of the season at the Carbon Country Club on Thursday, April 25.
Following the season finale the Lady Dinos will prepare for the state championship meet on May 7 and 8.
