Carbon County is excited to announce the new text app that will allow residents to access Castle Country area events and activities through their phones, plus have a central location where those events and activities can be listed online.

“The new text app that we have out for the community to be aware of events its www.castlecountryevents.com – that’s where all of our calendars are routing to and on that, you will find all of the activities that are going on. The other thing that’s exciting is we have a new text app. So, if you text CCEVENTS to 555888 you’ll get weekly updates on all the events that are happening for that week,” said Carbon County Commissioner, Casey Hopes. This is going to be a convenient way for residents to stay informed on local events and activities that are taking place throughout the Castle Country area.

One great local activity to take advantage of now that the weather is cooperating is a visit to Nine Mile Canyon. “If you have never been up Nine Mile it’s an amazing trip, make sure you take a lunch, take some water with you and enjoy the afternoon of some good quality family time. The best part about that is you are out of cell service so it’s quality family time, you know the kids won’t be texting or playing on games it’s a good time,” said Commissioner Hopes. Nine Mile Canyon is located only 20 miles north of Wellington, visitors will find the canyon walls full of petroglyphs, plus see historical ranches and structures nearby.
