The Dino baseball squad traveled to Nephi on Wednesday to take on the Juab Wasps. Carbon lead early through 3 1/3 innings when Juab scored their only runs in the bottom of the third, and the Dino rally fell short losing the game 4-2.

The Dinos got a boost from starting pitcher Keaton Rich, who gave them three innings of scoreless baseball on 41 pitches he gave up no runs and struck out three. Braxton Bennett then came on in relief giving up four runs and striking out two on 67 pitches in the loss.

Offensively Ty Anderson went three-for-three and scored two runs. Braxton Bennett, Collin Lewis and Kaleb Nelson also registered one hit each.

With the loss, Carbon now drops to 6-3 in region play and it puts them behind Union and Juab in third place overall, which is where they will land in the final season standings. Even if Union were to lose against Providence Hall on Friday and Carbon were to beat Juab, Union would still hold the tiebreaker over the Dinos.

The Dinos final regular season game is this Friday at Gardner Field in Helper at 3:30 , against Juab (9-0 in region). It will be Senior Day, come out to the ballpark and support your Carbon Dinos.  You can also catch all the action on KOAL 107.3 FM and 750 AM. The Landon’s Diesel pre-game will  start at 3:05.
