It is with great sadness that the family of James (Jim) Alan Hofstetter announce his passing on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at the age of 54. Jim decided to return home to our father in heaven after a long courageous battle through a debilitating illness.

Jim was born on December 17, 1964, in Lima, Ohio to Norbert W. (Hobby) and Anna Mary Hofstetter. Jim was the youngest of four children. Jim grew up in Ohio until joining the Navy at age 19 and sailed the open seas for the next 18 years. Jim married Jennifer Miller after meeting her at a Charlie Daniels concert in San Diego. They had four wonderful children that Jim adored. He was so excited when they were born that he hand stitched each of them a baby blanket. Jim loved spending time with his family. Some of his favorite activities were camping, fishing, playing sports, cooking, especially on the BBQ, and spending time outdoors. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching football and basketball (Go Cavaliers!). Jim loved all his nieces and nephews and developed a special bond with Cameron, Andrew and Ashley. He enjoyed texting his children family feud questions while watching the show. During his long illness, he enjoyed being a couch potato in his lazy boy watching his favorite tv shows.

Jim is survived by his children, Jaylee (Jeff) Marshall, Jamie (Fred) Jensen, Jesse Hofstetter, Jacklyn (Daniel) Hofstetter and their half brothers Jaydan, Ryan and sister Samari; and Jennifer, his lifelong love. He is also survived by his brothers Tom Hofstetter and Andy (Johna) Hofstetter and sister Julie (Ray) Balbaugh. Jim will be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Kaylee, Khloe, Melanie, Skyler, PJ and Tylee as well as extended family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, father and best friend/brother-in-law Mike Miller. Jim, we know you and Mike are waiting for that next Jazz – Cavalier game.

Jim’s life and legacy will be remembered and celebrated on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main St. Price, Utah from 12:30 pm. to 1:30 pm. Interment, Orangeville City Cemetery at 2 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of James online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
