The Carbon Dinos and Emery Spartans both received a first round bye in the 3A State Championship Tournament that begins on Saturday.

Carbon was given the #7 seed in the final RPI rankings that came out earlier today. They will face the Grantsville Cowboys, the #10 seed from Region 13. Grantsville finished the season 11-16 overall and 5-5 in conference. These two teams will face off at 10:30 A.M. on the campus of Utah Valley University on Tuesday October 29.

Emery earned the #13 seed and will face Union, the #4 seed out of Region 14. Union finished the season 26-4 overall and a perfect 12-0 in conference play. They will play at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday on the UVU campus as well.
