The Utah State University Extension’s HEART Initiative will be hosting two evenings of education and dinner to talk about the current Opioid Crisis. “What we’ve been doing are these Community Education Dinners to provide an overview of opioids and the epidemic that we have locally here in Carbon and Emery and then providing some evidence-based information on what people can do as far as treatment resources, local resources for recovery, prevention; we overview a lot of different topics and we do a Narcan Training as well during these dinners,” said Dr. Ashley Yaugher. There will be presentations and panel discussions held afterward.

Individuals who wish to attend this event must register on https://www.eventbrite.com/ “Please go to https://www.eventbrite.com/ and if you search Community Education Dinner, you can choose between the Carbon County or Emery County dinners, so the East Carbon or the Green River dinner and that way you can put your ticket in and RSVP so that we know how many are going,” explained Dr. Yaugher. There will be child care available at the Green River dinner but because of space limitation in East Carbon child care will not be made available. Event organizers apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
