Castle Country Radio selects Price Kiwanis Club as March’s Charity of the Month. They are gearing up for their biggest event of the year so be sure so mark your calendars on April 5 for the 54th Annual Price Kiwanis Radio Auction. This is a wonderful event that benefits children in both Carbon and Emery Counties.
The annual radio auction is the main fundraiser for the club and can be heard on all three Castle Country Radio Stations. “The way it works is the Kiwanis members solicit donations from businesses in the Castle Country area, great businesses that always support the radio auction very well. They donate hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of certificates, items and things,” stated Kiwanis Member Nick Tatton. “Our local Kiwanis Club is about 90 plus years old when it was first chartered and it’s a children’s community service organization. Everything is focused on children’s charities and helping kids.” The proceeds earned from the auction assist the club in funding the free Kid’s Day in the Park that is held in September, as well as, Sub for Santa program, plus educational costs and assisting children in need of eyeglasses and hearing aids.
The entire community can participate in the radio auction by calling the radio station, placing bids on the desired services and products. “It starts at 9 o’clock in the morning and goes until we are done, which is usually somewhere around, live off the air, somewhere around 7 or 8 o’clock in the evening. The radio that it is on is Castle Country Radio and that’s KRPX The Peak, Kickin’ Country, and KOAL,” stated Tatton. Items range from tools, restaurant certificates, beauty certificates, auto detailing, movie tickets, paintings, and photography images, there is sure to be something that appeals to everyone.
Any individuals that would like to be a part of the Kiwanis Club can learn more about the club by attending their weekly meetings on Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm at the Carbon Country Club or contact any current club member.
