Our beloved sister and aunt, June Fausett, 94, passed away April 30, 2020 at Good Life Senior Living in Price.
She was the third child from a family of nine born to Ervin and Clara Belle Smithson Fausett in Price, Utah on January 27, 1926. In her youth, June had many chores to do such as, herd sheep and cows, feed the hogs and work in the fields alongside her siblings.
June was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a lifelong resident of “Fausett Lane” where she was blessed with many fond memories. June loved her family, friends and neighbors, and she created a lifetime of memories with her beloved sister, Marie. She was educated in Price schools and at the age of 18 began working at the Price Steam Laundry running the press and folding sheets. June worked at the laundry for two years and then went to work at the Carbon Locker in 1946 where she started out at .50 cents per hour. This was a big wage at that time. June worked about a year and half until she saved enough money to buy a used 1936 Ford-2 door. She was so thrilled when she bought the car that she hurried home and took the family members for a ride. Her next big venture was saving up with Marie so they could purchase a1950 Ford. At that time gas was only .25 cents a gallon. June continued to work for Carbon Locker and the name eventually changed to Jeanselme’s Super Market. June loved to wrap meat for customers, especially for the farmers and ranchers. She enjoyed working with her co-workers and was sad when Jeanselme’s closed their doors.
June was the Black Diamond Stampede Rodeo Queen Attendant for 1944-1945. This was the highlight of her life. She was also honored when the queens and their attendants received the “Salute to Royalty” held in their honor for royalty members from 1939-1993. After her retirement, June enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, making quilts and making the most of her life. June was always on the go and the “Fausett Sisters” were always there to support their family and friends. No matter where June went in life, Marie was always by her side. They were inseparable and shared a lifetime of wonderful memories.
June is survived by her brother, Allen Babe (Sandra) Fausett, Castle Dale; two sisters, Marie Fausett, Dot (Dennis) Cole, both of Price. Aunt June was a grandma to all and she will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Dee, Bud, Ted and Don; and a sister, Fern.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Shane Gagon and Dr. Sterling Potter, the staff at Good Life Senior Living and June’s special nurses, Willow Jones and Raeann Fausett.
