Stephen Werner Falk, beloved husband, dad, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend, returned to our Heavenly Father on May 1, 2020, with his family by his side, after a very short battle with brain cancer.

Stephen was born the youngest of three children on the 27th of November, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Werner Hans Falk and Marit (Blattman) Falk.

Stephen enjoyed music of all kinds and loved to participate in various choirs. As a child, he played the violin and continued playing until his later teenage years.

Dad had a love for the military that was developed by his father’s service in World War II and subsequent employment at Hill Air Force Base. Dad enjoyed anything regarding the history of the 2nd World War and read many books on the subject. That love was evident in the many model planes, naval war ships and tanks he built as a child. Dad also had an early love of model trains and amassed an extensive collection as a youth.

Stephen served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Johannesburg, South Africa Mission and learned to speak Afrikaans. After his mission, Stephen attended the University of Utah, where he met his loving wife, Kathy and were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1977. After earning his degree in mining engineering, Stephen and Kathy relocated to Price, Utah for his career with the Bureau of Land Management where he worked for 40 years.

Stephen was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many capacities. Most recent was his calling to serve the members of The Parkdale Care Center. He loved those members whom he served and even asked to keep the calling as long as possible.

Stephen’s greatest love was his family. He always put his wife and children first over his own desires. He deeply loved his family and friends in life and will always be remembered for his kindness and compassion.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Kathy (Kramer) Falk; his children Barry (Erin), Jaman, Ryan (Jana), Carlie and Rachel Falk; his siblings Carol (Dale) Westergard and Karen (Kip) Meyers; and his four grandsons, Wyatt, Paxton, Connor and McCoy Falk.
