Carbon High School senior Cole Fossat has been named to the 3A All-State team following a brilliant final campaign in 2016.

Playing pitcher and shortstop for the Dinos throughout the season, Fossat led Carbon in every offensive category. Ending with a .532 batting average, Fossat also recorded seven home runs, 23 RBI, 41 hits and 12 doubles.

During the 3A state tournament Fossat also connected on four home runs in as many games, while pitching a 10 inning gem against Park City. For the season he accumulated a record of 4-4 and a 2.8 ERA from the mound.

While Fossat was the only Carbon player selected to the first or second team, fellow senior Anthony Maclean and sophomore Cody Lowe were both selected as a honorable mentions. Maclean batted .329 and was vital to the Carbon pitching staff. Batting .316 for the season, Lowe recorded 24 hits, 17 RBI and six doubles.

The 3A All-State teams are selected by each coach in the classification and the Deseret News selects a MVP from the group.
