The Pleasant Valley Days committee would like to invite everyone to come to Scofield, Utah for their annual celebration taking place on Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2. This celebration has come to be a family tradition for decades with activities for all ages during the fourth of July weekend.
Both Friday and Saturday there will be several vendors set up in the park with various items such as food, crafts, retail and other unique items. There will be a dinner in the park beginning at 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm with a cost of $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.
The Little Miss Pleasant Valley Days pageant will begin registration at 6:00 pm and is open to girls ages 3 to 18 years old. Contestants will prepare a talent no more than two minutes and answer an interview question. Pageant coordinators ask that contestants do not perform a lip syncing act as their talent. The pageant will begin at 7:00 pm and admission is free.
The Miner’s Memorial Dedication will begin at 6:30 pm, with guest speakers and the reading of all the mines in both Carbon and Emery counties.
On Saturday morning Pleasant Valley Days will serve up their famous breakfast in the park at 7:00 am till 10:00 am. The cost will be $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under the age of 12.
The parade will start at 11:00 am with creative floats exhibiting their version of this year’s theme A Star-Spangled Fourth of July. If individuals or businesses would like to be in the parade may do so by calling (801) 566-0259.
Following the parade there will be games in the park such as a dunk tank, tug of war, treasure hunt and new this year a doubles horseshoe tournament. Due to the number of horseshoe pits available inside the park the tournament is limited to 20 teams so early registration is strongly encouraged by calling (435) 820-6636.
The silent auction will announce winners at 5:00 pm in the park, with live family entertainment set to begin at 7:00 pm and a dance in the pavilion at 9:30 pm till midnight.
The busy day will close out with an amazing fireworks display on the lake at dark. Guests are invited to watch from the park while listening to live music or they may find a safe place around the lake to enjoy the show.
