Samuel (Sam) Harvey Baker, age 44, passed away July 29, 2016.
He was born October 28, 1971 in Price, Utah. Married Amber Lynn Lopan, February 11, 1995 in Price, Utah and they were blessed with two wonderful children: Samuel Dane and Taylor Lynn. Family meant everything to Sam and he worked tirelessly in the coal mines so he could provide for his family. Sam started working in the mines at 17 and was honored to work alongside some of the best miners in the area for 27 years. He loved mining and was presently employed at Dugout Canyon Mine where he will be sorely missed by his co-workers.
Sam loved hunting, fishing, camping, motocross, working in the yard and building his garage with “Papa Mart”. Sam was a kid at heart who loved to tease, entertain, watch scary movies with his kids, “Go Jeppin” and he had unique way of making everyone laugh. Sam will be sorely missed by his loving family and a community of friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Amber Baker, son, Dane Baker & Kennedi, daughter, Taylor Lynn Baker, all of Wellington; father, Jim (Michele) Baker, Price; sisters, Amy Wasson, San Diego, CA, Cambria Adams, Sebastopol, CA; grandma, Alisha Konakis, Price; in-laws, Marty (Ronda) Olson, Wellington, Max (Beth) Lopan, Castle Dale; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Konakis; birth father, Harvey Randall; beloved brother, David Baker; and grandparents, Steve Konakis and Floyd (Bess) Baker.
Funeral service, Wednesday, August 3, 2016, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery.
